Indiana basketball started the season with high hopes, and they weren’t disappointed in game 1 after blowing out Chicago State 104-55.

All eyes were on freshman sensation Romeo Langford in his debut in the cream and crimson. He dropped 19 points to lead all scorers on 7-12 shooting from the field.

“If Romeo makes a few more free throws, it was almost a flawless game.” Archie Miller told iuhoosiers.com after the game.

“There was no pressure,” Langford said of his IU debut. “Emotions were high for all the freshmen to get out there and get that first game at Assembly Hall. It felt good.”

Transfer Evan Fitzner added 14 points in his first game as a Hoosier, too.

Now 1-0, Indiana prepares for another home game on Friday vs. Montana State at 8:00 p.m.
