The free agency dust has settled, the NFL Draft is later this month, and the Colts continue to find themselves in the top 10 of the NFL offseason power rankings.

ESPN released their full, updated rankings on Tuesday, and the Colts landed at 7 following their moves to pick up Devin Funchess and Justin Houston.

“Colts general manager Chris Ballard didn’t let last season’s 10-6 record and playoff appearance dictate how he would attack the offseason. He has been selective in how he has used the NFL’s most salary-cap space by signing just two outside free agents — defensive end Justin Houston and receiver Devin Funchess. He has remained patient and is committed to continuing to build the roster through the draft. The Colts currently have nine picks later this month.”

Earlier this month NFL.com had the Colts as high as 5 on their post-free agency power rankings. The Bears, Chargers, Chiefs, Patriots, Rams, and Saints are listed ahead of the Colts.

Yep. They play three of the top six teams in the power rankings in 2019. All on the road, too.

Obviously it’s April, and playing games on paper/through power rankings doesn’t mean much. But a difficult 2019 schedule will be a talking point throughout the upcoming season.
