The Fan Morning Show is joined by Mike Wells to discuss NBA free agency, potential trades, and the Pacers. He also talks Kyrie Irving, NBA contracts, Kemba Walker, and how NBA stars take time to develop.

The latest on Kyrie Irving:

“You know what I find interesting about this free agency period, the two guys, no offense to Kevin Durant but with the torn achillies he kind of loses some rush here, but with Kawhi Leonard and Kyrie Iving, they are two of the same people in that you don’t know what is going on. Kawhi is one of those people, he just doesn’t vocalize about it, Kyrie is just cuckoo, he is a little cuckoo so you can’t guess what Kyrie Irving is thinking. Kawhi is just a very private guy. So, I have no idea what Kyrie Irving is thinking.”

His take on the potential of Aaron Holiday and T.J. Leaf:

“I think Aaron Holiday is going to be fine. I think you can probably expect him to have an increased role likely as the back-up point guard. T.J. Leaf is more of a head scratcher. You look where he is picked at, my thing when I look at NBA guys, I’m not one of those people to immediately call a guy a bust, but you need to see the potential and be like, ‘ok, this guy is ready to take a step forward and be a rotation player’ not a guy that is going to get scrub minutes, or a guy when things are going bad you hope to bring a spark in. I’m not sure if I can sit here and look at T.J. Leaf and say he can be a rotation player. First of all, he is still light and he needs to get in the weight room, he needs to get stronger. This is something that would make him stand out and separate himself from the rest of the guys on the bottom of the bench. So, as far as Leaf goes, I have no idea. I don’t know. He may be one of those guys that he is what he is and you just gotta say, ‘ok we made that pick and it just didn’t pan out.’”
